ECO2404H1S Empirical Applications of Economic TheoryThe course covers methods and applications in economic theory and is intended to MA and PhD students. The focus is on structural econometric methods, emphasizing the interactions between economic theory and empirical methods rather than focusing just on the statistical analysis. The applications are at the core of the Empirical Industrial Organization, including estimation of demand functions and static oligopoly models; estimation of production functions; the use of control function methods; and moment inequalities estimators.
