Arts & Science Internship Program (ASIP)

The Department of Economics is thrilled to offer our students the opportunity to participate in the Arts & Science Internship Program (ASIP) starting in the 2023–24 academic year.

The Arts & Science Internship Program (ASIP) combines 12 to 20 months of paid work experience with specialized professional development training. Eligible students can apply to ASIP to gain practical work experience, learn valuable career skills and build their professional networks, with support from a dedicated internship team.

Participation in ASIP is open to both econ Majors and Specialists. It does not change the academic requirements of a student’s program, however, it extends a student’s period of study by one year to account for the additional time needed to complete the work terms.

Students apply in June–July, with accepted students starting in Fall term. For 2023–24, only students starting their second year in the Fall term are eligible. In subsequent years, there will be a limited number of spaces for students starting the ASIP program in their third year.

You can learn more by visiting the Arts & Science website. In addition, the ASIP program has put together a really informative video. If you have any questions about the program, please contact the Experiential Learning & Outreach Support Office at asip@utoronto.ca.
