The Foreign Exchange Market: General Readings


Extensive coverage of the first six topics covered in this lesson can be found in the book by Michael Melvin, International Money and Finance, which is published by Addison-Wesley. The relevant chapters are 1, 4, 5 and 6. For review of the statistics concepts used in Topic 7, for those readers who have little background in statistical analysis you can download my Statistics for Economists: A Beginning from my web-site. Those with insufficient background in statistics should read all of Chapter 1 and the discussion of the meaning of probability in Chapter 2, to the end of page 48. The normal distribution is discussed in Chapter 3, Section 10, pages 89 to the middle of page 91, and simple linear regression is covered in Chapter 8.
