November 17, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our great friend and faculty member.

Professor Arthur Hosios

We are sad to announce that Professor Arthur Hosios passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 17, 2018. Our condolences go to his wife Louise Harris and children Ilana and Aaron, and to all family and friends of this much-loved and highly-regarded member of the Department of Economics. He was a former chair of the department, having served a 10-year term, and was Senior Academic Advisor to the Dean, Financial Strategy & Projects in the Faculty of Arts and Science.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 19, 2018 at Steeles Memorial Chapel.

To mark Arthur's passing, the University of Toronto flag will be flown at half-mast for the day on Monday, November 19, 2018, at Simcoe Hall on the St. George campus, as well as at the UTM and UTSC campuses.

Arthur's intelligence, dry wit, and warmth will be sorely missed. We will post a fuller appreciation of his life and work as soon as we are able.

In the meantime, donations may be made to the ALS Society of Canada.
